The context
The Chemin de Fer de la Baie de Somme is a long-standing client of Kanga, the company behind LudoVisio™: we built its website about ten years ago, then redesigned its visual identity. 20 to 30% of its passengers come from abroad, notably from Belgium and the Netherlands.
The brief
To offer, during the train journey, an audio guide in French and English about the surroundings of the line.
Our adaptation
Two constraints shaped the project: the train is noisy, especially in high season, and the network drops in many parts of the bay. Hence the chosen principle: passengers put on their earphones, the app locates them and shows the points of interest as the journey goes on.
- An audio guide in French and English about the surroundings of the line.
- Geolocation: each point of interest appears as the train approaches it.
- Content downloaded at start-up: the app then runs fully on its own, even when the network drops.
- Content taken from the Chemin de Fer’s website, adapted to each route, with geolocated points of interest.
- A tailor-made app, built on the technical architecture of the existing website rather than on LudoVisio™ Guide or Play.

What this project shows
When a need goes beyond LudoVisio™ Guide and Play, we build to measure: here by reusing the architecture and content of a website we already knew, rather than starting from scratch.
Usage tracking relies on simple markers; it is less detailed than the statistics of the Play and Guide offers.
