Frequently asked questions

What people ask us before getting started

Price, lead time, languages, how it works on site, data: the short answers. Something missing? Write to us; the people who build the apps will reply.

Offer and pricing

How much does a LudoVisio™ visitor app cost?

The base offer starts at €149 excl. VAT per month, with a one-year commitment and annual billing (€1,788 excl. VAT per year). It includes a dedicated app in your colours (logo and brand guidelines), dedicated hosting with maintenance, updates and backups, an address such as yourvenue.ludovisio.fr, the back office and statistics, 2 hours of video training, and support.

Options are optional and quoted separately: your own domain name, extra support days, importing your existing content, a graphic universe, sound design or specific features.

What is the difference between LudoVisio™ Guide, Play and Custom?

  • Guide is a visitor guide: visitors point their phone at an artwork, object or panel, the app recognises it and opens its page (text, images, video, audio in their language, mini-quiz).
  • Play is a story-driven game trail, indoors or outdoors: stages, challenges (multiple choice, word puzzles, jigsaws, spot the difference, memory), points and a score.
  • Custom is a bespoke app, built from the Guide and Play components plus modules developed for you (interactive maps, 3D panoramas, wayfinding, etc.).

Can one venue have both Guide and Play?

Yes, but they are two separate apps, each with its own subscription. There is no bundle by default: if your project really needs both, let’s talk.

How quickly is the app ready?

For the Guide or Play base offer, 3 days after we receive your logo and colour codes. You then add your content from the back office at your own pace. Options and specific developments have their own schedule, agreed with you.

How does it differ from an audio guide, a QR code or an immersive installation?

LudoVisio™ sits in between: more interactive than a QR code that opens a web page, without the cost and complexity of an immersive installation. Unlike an audio guide, there is no hardware to buy or maintain: the app runs on the visitor’s own phone, and you update the content yourself.

Do you work with local authorities and tourist offices?

Yes. Kanga, the company behind LudoVisio™, already works with French local authorities and tourist offices, through purchase orders or public procurement.

On site, for visitors

Do visitors need to download an app?

No. It is a web app: it opens in the phone’s browser from a link, with no app store involved.

Does the app work without a network connection?

Guide: yes, once the content has been downloaded to the phone. Play: no, a connection is needed because content is loaded at each stage of the trail. For special cases, a bespoke app can work offline, like the on-board app of the Baie de Somme Railway.

Do we need to provide tablets or phones?

No: the app is designed for the visitor’s own phone. If you would like to lend tablets or phones, we can supply them as an additional service; get in touch.

Is the app suitable for visually impaired visitors?

Accessibility was built into LudoVisio™ Guide from the start: the text of each page can be enlarged or reduced with the T+ and T− buttons, and each page can have an audio version, generated by AI from the text, in every language.

Can access to the app be restricted?

Yes. Guide and Play can both be protected by a shared code, for example given with the ticket bought at the desk. Guide can also limit access to a time slot or a geolocated area.

Languages and voices

Can the app be multilingual?

Yes. In Guide, you add languages yourself from the back office: translation is done automatically in one click, then you review and adjust each text as needed. Play can also be offered in several languages.

How are the voices produced?

Voices are generated by AI with an open-source engine, directly from the back office and in each language. For a trail that calls for real sound staging, we can produce a scripted soundtrack: narration, ambiences, sound effects, music and mixing (quoted separately).

Content and management

Can we manage the content ourselves?

Yes, that is the idea: from the back office you create as many content pages (Guide) or trails (Play) as you like, without relying on a contractor day to day. At Le Labo Cambrai, the team built and filled its own trails, with occasional fine-tuning from us.

How do we prepare artworks for image recognition?

A few photos of each work are enough, taken on site or taken from your existing images. Guide’s back office sorts them automatically when they are named consistently: drop ming_vase_room_1_1.png to ming_vase_room_1_4.png and it creates the work “Ming Vase Room 1” with its 4 photos, linked to the matching room.

What statistics do we get?

The back office shows the content viewed, games started, player scores and how the app is used.

Can we use our own domain name?

Yes, as an option: for example visit.museum.com instead of the ludovisio.fr address. Aigues-Mortes has its own domain for its treasure trail.

Data and support

What visitor data is collected?

Play: games are anonymous. When a game starts, the app generates a nickname and a session ID; players enter no personal data. Their email is only requested at the end of the trail, and only if they want to receive their score.

Guide: creating an account requires the visitor’s email, with or without consent to receive a newsletter. The venue remains in control of this data and decides, for example, to delete it after a set period.

How does support work?

By email and phone, with a single contact: the person who develops your app. We reply quickly, usually the same day or the next. On-site support, for example at launch, is available on quotation.
