The context

Le Choulettorium is an interpretation centre devoted to the history of beer, located at the Brasserie La Choulette in Hordain, with its restaurant. Apart from visitors from the region, its audience comes mainly from Belgium and the surrounding area: offering content in several languages was a real necessity.

The brief

A visitor guide that recognises, through the phone camera, the works and panels displayed on the walls.

Our adaptation

The project started as a game trail like LudoVisio™ Play. Through our discussions with the Choulettorium, it changed course completely: what was needed was a guide that recognises what visitors have in front of them. So we rebuilt the LudoVisio™ technical base almost from scratch.

  • Camera recognition: the app identifies the work displayed on the wall and, for greater accuracy, can read the text on the panel.
  • Embedded content: downloaded at start-up, after which the app works without a network.
  • Multilingual: automated translation checked by the project team, and voices generated by an open-source AI running locally.
  • Audio and video, designed in particular for visually impaired visitors with a companion.
  • Adapted back office: content is managed from simple uploaded photos.
  • Access limited to the venue: optional location-based restriction, and an access code that changes every half-day.
  • Quizzes with points and player rankings.

What the project gave rise to

The app is available in French and English; Dutch, German, Spanish and Italian will follow.

Above all, this project gave rise to LudoVisio™ Guide: a visitor guide based on image and text recognition, which lets any museum or interpretation centre easily guide its visitors and create tours for every event.
